Greeting friends and alumni!  Another year has flown by and we are on the brink of our exciting Pioneer Days week-end again!

Palisade lost a wonderful patron this year when Frank Potthoff passed away from his battle with cancer.  Frank had a passion… a passion for Palisade.  He graduated from PHS in 1953 and Palisade was home to Frank.  He showed it through all of his work to make sure our little town thrived.  Through the years, he was active on the school board, village board, Palisade Industrial Commission, the CS Club and most recently was instrumental in getting the Palisade Community Foundation started.   The Foundation is a vital program to ensure the survival and legacy of Palisade.  We encourage you to read the foundation information included in your Pioneer Days packet, and to consider donating to this worthy foundation.  All of this being said, we will honor Frank and the Palisade Community Foundation for their great work in supporting Palisade.

This year’s festivities will begin with the alumni banquet on Friday night, June 10th.  We will honor all classes of the 0, 10, and 15 ending digits but we’d love to see all other classes join us as well!  It’s going to be a fun evening with great food and entertainment.

Saturday activities will begin with the Fireman’s Breakfast from 7 to 9 a.m. at the fire hall.  Directly following, be sure to register at the Village Office and sign up for door prizes!  Then find a good seat on
Main Street
for the parade which will begin at 10:30 a.m.  The theme this year is “WILD about our community, LOUD about our future, and PROUD of our past”.

Other Saturday events include co-ed sand volleyball, free swimming, kiddie carnival, bounce house, a photography contest, and Bingo.  The day will finish off with a free barbecue in the park and a dance featuring two bands – Country Rebels and Crazy Horses, all held at the FC Krotter park.

On Sunday, we invite you to attend the church of your choice and then come to the park for a potluck lunch at noon.  The Church of Christ will hold their popular Community Gospel Songfest again this year at 3 p.m.

You’ll note we haven’t included a Schedule of Events in your packet this year.  That’s because we had events cancel, change times, etc. last year and people were disappointed because they missed events.  A schedule will be available on Friday morning and throughout the week-end at local businesses, the alumni banquet,  and at Registration at the Village office Saturday morning.

Be sure to get your t-shirts ordered today!

We are getting excited here in town… we hope you will join us for a week-end full of fun, friends, great food, and fellowship.  See you in June!!
